Beauty Craze: Matte Skin, Luminous Finish

Beautifully natural-looking skin was the big look for autumn/winter. For those not born with a fresh-faced glow, this look is all about the prep work. Prime skin with a moisturising serum or a few drops of MAC's Care Blend Essential Oils before applying your foundation; then dust with pressed powder for a matte yet silky finish. And in the case of your MeDoll, I have already seem a lot of people sporting this look. It's a lot people for this type of weather and feel than bright neons.

Milan Fashion Week

Orange/red and glossy at Gucci, graphic and in three different colour variations at Fendi, just-kissed at Dolce & Gabbana, fuchsia at Jil Sander, matte and orange at Marni - one thing is for sure, in Milan, lips were by far the most important point of focus where beauty was concerned. Whether it was to reflect the colour-blocking in the clothes, or a nod to the Seventies as per the emerging and most prolific trend of the season (Fendi and Marni), bright lips are in. Meaning that for the new season it's not a question of whether one should wear lipstick, but more one of what colour and which effect. Pucker up!

The confident classic is reborn. Any shade of red will do - from blackcurrant to sweetest raspberry - but make it chic and modern rather than retro. Outline with a lip pencil to keep the things precise, and then play with the shape, texture or tone. Take the colour slightly beyond your MeDolls natural lip line. Go for hyper-glossy texture, or work the moist-matte look - there are a ton of options.
