Jumpsuiting

Gonna try keep up this weekly posting again - I hope some of the other writers post a little of their own stuff too, people must be seriously fed up of me and my style! Anyway, this piece has been in my wardrobe since I bought it last September in MSW and I didn't even really style it then, so that's what I'm bringing you today =D

This is the Tailored Jumpsuit and it's a pretty minimal piece with a standard one-colour style and a slightly wider leg and a corset-esque top half. It's a good basic piece really, although it'll be one to look for in the Bazaar if you're interested in purchasing it at the moment - although you never know, it could appear in Callie's Picks sometime!
I browsed through my whole Tops section of my wardrobe and just choose out a whole host of pieces which I thought worked quite nicely with the jumpsuit and everything was really themed on white or blues and greys and so I split my looks up that way, and love the range of styles this provides. I love those blue long sweaters with the tone of the jumpsuit, the colours are very complimentary, but at the same time a classic white is always nice! I like the casual option provided by tees and modern lasercut pieces, but a collared shirt or something silky looks great too. The jumpsuit really has a lot of options for itself, making it a pretty good piece - even though I haven't discovered that until now =D

Let me know what you think of the jumpsuit, my choices, and this post in the comments below!

It's been too long

I've been incredibly swamped at work and it's been draining in so many ways, this weekend I squeezed in a little extra blogging time so I could finally style this StarDesign jacket from lacky_girl..!

This jacket has been sitting in my suite for weeks waiting for me to put together some looks, and finally here they are! For me jeans were the first and ultimate choice but I really wanted to try with other pieces to see the versatility factor of the modern print. The bold colour means it's easy to choose neutrals to style with it and I think I covered all the bases with my looks. My favourite is definitely the jeans, as I pretty much expected, I think the skinny style just works well with the jacket and that's kind of it^ I am pleasantly surprised about the dress though, I think a skirt looks alright, and maybe with some more experimenting, the right one will work out well =D

Let me know what you think in comments below - we love feedback!

Hidden gems

I've been having a really good browse in the Plaza catalogue lately and I've been finding some real hidden gems, especially from the Voile section - when you search you find a whole lot more pieces than you can see just by visiting the store and there are some amazing bargains to be had, as well as some awesome pieces. Today I wanted to style one item I bought over the weekend - the Floral Applique Sheer Skirt. This came out way back in the spring of 2012 and I really hadn't noticed it before, and if I did back then I've forgotten (it's been 4 years, I think it can be forgiven =P)

I really like sheer clothing, I don't want it to be too revealing though, so this skirt is great for that as the sheer aspects are balanced by other panels covering what you'd need covered. And it's decorated with jewels and glitter, which is pretty great^

What else can you still get from the collection? *You can click on the image to get these 5 of my favourites directly to your Plaza dressing room*

It didn't cost us a penny

This week has been all about the 10 Year Anniversary for Stardoll (isn't that crazy?!), and over the weekend one of the freebies was this Shoulder Jumpsuit, which is a pretty clasic black piece and we didn't even have to spend a thing to get it, what a bonus^ So in celebration of free clothes, I thought I would throw together some styling ideas for it in my post this week!

I really kept with black and darker colours for this one, but I did find that a lot of stuff I already had in my wardrobe worked pretty well. In keeping it as a jumpsuit, there are plenty of outerwear options, and I liked that I could go with both oversized and fitted pieces like the leather jackets which shows versatility in the piece. In branching out from the jumpsuit, trousers work pretty well with the piece and you can still show off that top-half detailing. I especially liked high-waisted and wide-legged pieces and found different styles of them worked well, glittered, sporty and trendy all worked very nicely and I even got some green tones in there too^

I initially focussed a lot on the clothing, so added this second section of accessories and such which I loved the look of with the jumpsuit, I really was all about the shoes in this one and definitely didn't struggle to find things which worked out!

Let me know what you think in the comments^ xx

Style for all

By the title, I'm referring to clothes being able to be styled by everyone^ This came from the latest menswear release in the Plaza (those male dolls really need some more attention in the plaza, I'm sure there are plenty of people out there wanting a lot more clothing for the guys) where there were some great choices available that I've been seeing worn by both the male and female dolls! This is a little of a preparation to a post I will be posting at my own blog next week, but right now I wanted to style one of my favourite pieces from a past Mr release - the Independence Shirt. I've styled this before and also featured it recently on a blog post - but I enjoy putting it into looks so much I've gone for some more:

This is quite different for me because there really is a pop of bright colour as soon as you look! This shirt is very versatile and not just for male dolls because there's many ways I've gotten it to work on myself too^ Shoes and accessories were about being minimal for me, trying to stick with the masculine trend, so it was about the flats and the trainers (even if they are glittered^). Clothing, especially outerwear was where the flair comes from for me, with bright colours and interesting shapes. The shirt also gives the chance to wear yellow, not often you can say that! But it also works incredibly well with white, a colour I'm sure we're all adept to styling with, it's my favourite clothing colour by far at the moment. And as well as more dressed up white pieces, like the trousers and skirt at the top, jeans work well too and it's easy to find a few pairs in your wardrobe that will work out.

Let me know what you think in the comments! xx

NYC STREET STYLE X MM SNTA

Last week on Friday we were introduced to a new collection of Museum Mile, the SNTA collection. This featured pieces of clothing and works of art that were designed by members of the Stardoll community. I personally fell in love with the 'JoeJerez18 girl sweatshirt' I see this piece as something very current, the design itself is amazing! The way the bottom half ties up, the little print and the colour grey really bring this sweatshirt together, making it very easy to style.

The sweatshirt created by Joe, has been taken by storm with fashionista's from all over the world, bringing in their own flavour and giving us an insight to how they have styled this incredible sweatshirt. Note to self - In future posts, I will make sure to showcase other stylish users on how they style these staple pieces. You can see below I was inspired by the fashionable streets of Manhattan, New York! I feel New York is a great source of inspiration when needing to create a street style look and this sweatshirt was perfect for that.

Now, moving on to my look. I decided to pair the sweatshirt with jeans, a white fedora, then accessorising the look with the YSL purse and a pair of light lime green heels. I didn't want to over do it, I love the simplicity of the sweatshirt and I wanted to make sure it captures the eye.

Epiphany / / Head to toe beauty and style

Stardoll brought us a new Epiphany jewellery collection last week, themed on Inspired By pieces with a great selection for us to choose from. There's a lot of stand-out pieces in there, and I get a very retro vibe from several things and think there will be some great stylings from dolls to come! I only purchased a few of the pieces, and my post for this week is going to focus on one - the Floral Mami Inspired Necklace =)

I loved the blue and sea-toned colours in the necklace so used those in my makeup choices of the greys and blues - I really think it works quite nicely! For style I think whites and greys suit both the necklace and makeup very well and so those are colours I really focused on. I like the quirkiness of the perspex coat in the look on my doll, the texture really plays against that of the trousers and the tied sweater. But I also like the golden accessories in my second suggestion on the left and they would tie a look nicely with the necklace too. This really is a piece with a lot of options and I think there's plenty of room to play around with them!

Let me know what you think of this post in the comments below! And is there anything you guys want to see me post about? Comment that too^ x

Styled Outfit: Hotbuys Vinyl Bouquet Coat

*Originally posted April 2015*

So I've seen many great looks with the brand new Hotbuys Vinyl Bouquet Coat, and they're really inspiring me to hurry up and make some looks with mine! It costs 25SD's, which is a little pricey, but it is Dior inspired, so you do pay for the Couture! (Dior Spring Couture 2015)
I did attempt some colour in there with the middle look, but I don't like it - the purple is fine, but I don't like the items I've chosen for the look which is a pity! I do love the D&G top from the first look though, I think that surprised me a little and with some better shoes this is a look I wanna wear soon =D

Beginning at the start

Long time no see, right? I'm still hanging around here at TTT and hoping to get out a weekly post, independent of my other blogging work^ While wondering what to put in my first post for this rejuvenation I thought for a bit then looked back through what I had posted here before - it was a lot more than I had thought, and I started out in Feb 2014, I can't believe it was over 2 years ago! And so I came to the conclusion to begin at the start, where I started here by styling these Metallic Harem Trousers.

Compared to the last stylings of these trousers, this is the much preferred content! I still like gold accents with the colour of the velvet, it's just something I will always pair together, and I've stuck with neutrals in my other clothing items and aceessories. Makeup I used a combination of brown liner and shade to give quite a minimal 'dark' look for the outfit - I think it works, as well as a nude lip, the trousers definitely don't need any flashes or pops of colour with these looks^ I also took the opportunity to show off my newly redesigned room. Previously this just had the couch and plant but I've added just a few decor pieces to spruce it up a little, and the golden detailing worked perfectly for this look, a bit of a coincidence!

Be sure to leave a 'Thought' or a comment below and let me know what you think of this post, and what you might want to see here in the future =)

Styled Outfit: Fringed Sleeveless Shirt

An exclusive Styled Outfits post for you guys today, featuring this plaid shirt from the Ralph Lauren Denim & Supply floor of the Nelly store - it's a piece I was gifted about two months ago and haven't gotten around to styling at all due to my current challenge over at my own blog, so I decided to style it for you guys here today, so nope - this post hasn't already been done at The Stardoll Lookbook!
It costs 18SD which can be quite expensive for some members, so you're really going to want to have quite a few styling ideas first, as I know I can't be the only one who jumps on pieces before thinking about how they could be worn or how they fit into the rest of your wardrobe! So here are a couple of ways in which this shirt could be worn:
I did try and pair the shirt with a skirt, but I couldn't find anything that worked just right - maybe something I can keep working on, however I do quite like it with the 3 different pairs of bottoms that I have worn it with, I think the black roll ups might be my favourite, plus that could look good with a jacket too, or a cardi over the shoulders =)

What do you guys think of the shirt? And if you've bought it, how have you worn it?

An LE get together - BALMAIN Overflow

Sorry I've been absent, had my final undergrad exams at uni and then needed some time off to relax/learn how to relax again! So to continue on from my last post, an LE review, here are the outfits that I've styled from some of my purchases - enjoy!

Styled Outfit: McGinley Jacket, Killah

I've always loved this cardi - it's the sort of thing I would happily wear in real life, so when it came out in the Plaza quite a while ago now, I bought it right away! Recently I wore it for my latest challenge at The Stardoll Lookbook and someone commented saying they'd always struggled in styling it in a younger/fashionable way - so that's what I plan to do in this post!
So it's from Killah and costs 12SD's - for me this is a great price for the amount I wear it, and that makes it a great purchase =)
Normally I wear it with dresses, and I've actually kinda gotten into the habit of wearing it with the denim Hotbuys one (2nd on the right below), but it does work well with any coloured dress really, I think bright ones look great:
But these looks are quite basic, I wanted to come up with something more, so here are some more styles that I've come up with for this cute cardigan =)
Somehow all ended up being with trousers, but I still think it shows versatility with the cardigan! Oh, sorry for my terrible editing skills, don't quite know where they've disappeared to today!

So what do you guys think of the cardi? Love or hate?

Intro + Metallic Harem Trousers

Hello TTT! I'm Kirsten and I am one of the new writers =) Some of you will know me as sparklewand12 on Stardoll and others might know me from my own blogs The Stardoll Lookbook or the newer and less known The Stardoll Beauty Spot. You may even know me from my graphics - I've kind of done a bit of everything! I'm so delighted to be given the opportunity to write here on such a wonderful and longstanding Stardoll blog and I really hope I can deliver to you all! So on to my first post:

-----

I've recently, in the past 6 months or so, become a huge trouser fan; and I mean like an addict! The first thing I do when I go to the bazaar is search for trousers because there are so many out there on Stardoll that chances are I haven't come across most of the pairs! I bought these Metallic Harem Trousers in the bazaar maybe three or four months ago and I think I've worn them once or twice, but I always had a bit of a love-hate relationship with them as I have never known what to wear with them.

That was the dilemma until the other week when I decided I wanted to style them for my recent challenge over at the lookbook - I found so many pieces that worked with them! It gave me the new dilemma of which look to go for. So I chose one (I'm yet to wear it actually, and it's not featured in this post), but kept the other items aside for a styled outfit post, and when I was accepted here I thought why not post it? So here are a few of the other outfits I came up with for these:

The first look on the left is definitely going to be like Marmite to you guys, particularly with the loose shape-less top because its style is so similar to that of the trousers, but I felt the colour really worked and overbalanced the shape issue. I went with simple heels and a basic pale clutch so they wouldn't take from the colours of the clothes. I then finalised it with two skull necklaces - I'm not sure what drew me to choosing skulls for this outfit, or why I decided to put two but it just came together.

The second outfit here on the right was one of the first things I came up with. The trousers have this dark caramel colour, so I chose a top from the same sort of colour palate. Accessorised with nude, lightly decorated heels, then topped it off with an orange bag - I'm having a weird thing about orange recently. I just like it though unfortunately I know a lot of people won't see eye to eye with me on this!

The two on the left below are the same look - I liked both the tee and the sweater with the exact same accessories and thought, hey - why not wear them together? It's something I never do because I actually don't really think about it, but I like how this turned out. I stuck to the caramel coloured palate with this look too really in choosing the gold accessories, but I'm glad I got to use this bag, I've been trying to style it for ages!

The final look again highlights my weird orange obsession! I adore this Sonia Rykiel sweater and I happen to think it works greatly with the trousers (feel free to contradict, I know it's not everyones cup of tea). I went basic on accessories, choosing nude heels and a simple gold decorated necklace. I kind of like it, but not quite so much as some of the other looks I've shown you today.

So what do you guys think? Can you style these trousers better? If so, send a link below!
And what did you think of my first post here at TTT?

Lots of love,
Kxxx
