Covergirl Ain't what it Used to Be.

[please take this post with a pinch of salt if something in here applies to you]
[I am not trying to single people out, I am simply giving my opinion]

I'm sure that all members from 2007 to 2008 will know what I'm talking about when I say this.
Years ago, Stardoll came up with a cute little addition to our paperdoll heaven called "covergirl", and everybody was in love with the idea! One of those people being me. I thought it was a great way for people with beautiful medolls to get the recognition that they deserved.

Back then, only the girls with the most votes could win covergirl, these days, it seems as though only the girls with the most stardollars can win covergirl. Which in my eyes, is extremely unfair to the girls who work extremely hard on their suite, but have no stardollars.

If you have a couple of thousand just lying around, you'll automatically win covergirl, so long as you promise something in return to those who vote for you, for instance; a raffle, free LE or DKNY etc.

I think that nowadays, the people who win covergirl (sometimes) are undeserving. They just see covergirl as an opportunity to get a shiny trophy and a couple of friend requests, not as an opportunity for their hard work to be noticed. And to those people, I say tsk tsk.

What do you think?

HOT Dress

This Purple, Sparkling Beauty is the fastest selling LE Dress out of this whole season.
Aside from it's expertly designed shape and beautiful simplicity, this dress is also bang on trend for this coming season. The actual dress is designed by Victoria Beckham, the queen of Body-Con. I love this dress to bits, and it was one of the few things that I bought from this LE Collection. This dress gets full marks for everything!
If you're wearing this dress, just tell me in the comments and I'll add you to this post :)

New Doll: Devon Aoki

The latest doll for superstars only is Devon Aoki - Who is she? Devon is an American model and actress. Aoki has modeled for the fashion houses Lancome, Chanel, Versace, despite her relatively short height for a runway model. Aoki has done ad campaigns for Chanel Ready-to-Wear, Chanel Couture by Karl Lagerfeld, Versace by Steven Meisel, YSL by Juergen and many more. Her acting career includes films like 2 Fast 2 Furious, D.E.B.S, and Sin City.

Introduction.

Hola everybody!
I'm cianboland and I'm the new (temp) writer here at Tyler's Top Trends!
Please ignore my unbelievably awful graphic, because my photoshop skills stink on ice :D

I'll start off by posting reviews on the things that have recently come to Stardoll.

I'll start with the new 'OTTO' collection.
My first impression when seeing this is "Cheap and Chic."
I really like a lot of the items, there's so much stuff that could work with absolutely any outfit.
Another great thing is that the items are extremely cheap, even cheaper than the last collection! No garment exceeds 9 stardollars! And if that wasn't enough, some of the items are NON-Superstar!

BUT some of the items are a bit "Miley Cyrus, Hannah Montana-ish" Therefore you should avoid those. And another down is that the store is only available to Germany, but you can still purchase the items through search :)

I give this store an overall 9/10 - Super cute, super chic, but with some fashion disgraces.

Be sure to check back over the next few days for my next review!

xoxo ♥

Preppy Competition Update!

In relation to the prep-style competition, we have added some new ideas and prizes into the mix. Besides me, another judge has taken their place and they will also be giving something out to the winner!

Style icon Style_Magazine will be on the judging panel. But, however, she will also be giving the winner (if desired), a makeup makeover for your MeDoll - how generous, right?

Be sure to get your entries in soon, the competition ends September 4th!

Endangered Species Campaign: Tree Kangaroo

I am sure all of you are knowledgeable of the 'Endangered Species' campaign Stardoll has been advertising recently. Basically, in order to raise awareness for endangered species around the world, Stardoll has been giving out a new and free species each month.

You also have a chance to join numerous animal-themed competitions!

This months endangered species is:
Tree Kangaroo
(Dendrolagus matschiei) It looks a little like a teddy bear, climbs trees with the ease of a monkey, but what's a kangaroo doing up a tree? It’s the amazing Matschie's tree kangaroo, who makes its home in the ancient trees of Papua New Guinea's cloud forest.

When it comes down to fashion - and you take away the glitz and the glamour. In this case, saving an animal is also fashionable. Click here to adopt this beautiful creature!

Dioguardi Group Sucks!

Yes, I said it.

Today it was announced on the Dioguardi Group blog that a new project was being formed. Basically, they called every Stardoll blog that has any relation to fashion: shit.

And I quote:
"I'm going to tell you that Beyond Beauty's goal IS to stand out from the rest!! Because we're talking high fashion here!! Forget everything you've ever read on any other Stardoll fashion blog because this is the real deal and I'm sure that this blog is going to be a rather delicious feast for your fashion eye!!"
I know that if something interests me, I don't forget about it. But what they are trying to say is - forget about any blog that has ever brought fashion into the mix. Not to mention, 'this is the real deal'? What because you can do graphics, Manolo and you have good writers to make up for your lack of grammar education? High Fashion? Because we all care about something we can't afford, right? I could go on and on - but you either agree with me or you don't. This has really hit an all time low for me.

I no longer support Dioguardi Group.

I don't want an apology, my blog does.

Vani Teen Magazine Debut Teaser!

http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_WPxs78kATdw/TH5LZi_zp5I/AAAAAAAABN4/s3E5ntmeAHw/s1600/e0iic2.jpg.png

After canceling their summer issue, the staff at Vani Teen Magazine (including me!) - have decided to give a fall issue a go. Now, I will admit that the spoiler does look a little similar to something Teen Style would have done - but Teen Style is the past and I guess another magazine is somewhat free to takeover the throne. My advice to the graphics artists, though, is to watch out in terms of similarities with the other teen-related magazine.

Will keep you posted!

Thoughts?
