Stardoll Fashion Week; Stay Tuned! Pt. 2

Stardoll Fashion Week
Looks like Tyler's Top Trends is being taken over by Stardoll Fashion Week!

We will be publishing the most developed reviews on all the collections featured in this years fashion week event. I am already loving this jam-packed week and it is keeping me busy to say the least!

Check back tomorrow for reviews on:
  • 'The E Empire': a collection by Eva Petrina
  • 'Allure Magazine': owned by Coru
  • 'color.fashion.chic': created by Esther Modiel

By the way, how are you liking the reviews?

    Feedback, feedback, feedback!

Stardoll Fashion Week Day 3: Coconut Lingerie

Someone that should be getting a (excuse my French) shitload of credit for this amazing event that is Stardoll Fashion Week, is Becka Lavendale. Otherwise known as Psychotic-Freak. She really has done most, and by most I mean all of the work without Mary. And while she didn't create the magazines and clothing collections that you have been seeing, she did create this next line herself with some help from her partner Nojmual (Nojarama). It's a really simple, yet mysterious brand: Coconut Lingerie.

Because Stardoll wasn't already sexed-up enough (laughs), Coconut Lingerie was born. It's just in time to catch up with the real world - and while most people are showing some fall looks, with scarves and what not, the folks over at Coconut are whipping out Spring colors. Along with the apparel.

Here's what the creators had to say about the line:
"When you normally imagine a bra, you think either white, nude, or some black lacy sex tool. It’s become such a cliché! We wanted to change that. Coconut wanted to bring bolder colours into springtime, by fusing tropical influences with our British chic theme. Therefore, florals, warm tones with acidic contrasts, union jacks, teapots and a Mini are our staples. You won’t want to wear your old white knickers ever again. "
      Need I say more?

      Really. Need I say more?

Take a look at the complete collection here!

      Aced it.

What do you think about Coconut Lingerie?

Stardoll Fashion Week Day 3: Eccentric Magazine

      What a marvelous day.

      Eccentric Magazine makes a comeback!

As you all know, my dear - dear friend Vanessa (Star_Awards) has been absent from Stardoll for quite some time. Well, soon enough, she was bound to return. Don't they always? I'm rambling. ANYWAYS, she's back and probably more matured. She's put her problems aside and really started to get professional. It was a mystery for as while as to whether or not she would continue working on a new issue of Eccentric and fair enough: she was! Lets take a look:

The Coverit is Devie44 and he/she doesn't look too bad! The articles featured in this issue were actually quite interesting. It covered the basics. It talked about the current rulers of Stardoll and it also go personal with past ones. The colors are soft and the graphics have improved tremendously.

I have been so busy, Vanessa! But since I haven't messaged you about the new issue yet - how about I do publically, now. CONGRATULATIONS!

What are your thoughts on Eccentric's return?

Stardoll Fashion Week Day 3: L'arte de Lily

I want to thank everyone for the continuous support of this blog. You all have really been commenting a lot these past few days - which makes me more inspired to write.

It's day three of already 'proven to be a success' project that is Stardoll Fashion Week and as the days go by, projects will be making their debuts. Which of course means, Tyler's Top Trends will be there to capture everything that goes down. From magazine releases to clothing line launches!

Today, designer Lily Rose Todd (who also took part in the creating process of 'Perfection') solely launched her own clothing collection, simply titled: L'arte de Lily.

One of the looks (featured above), is an example of what you might seen in this collection. Here's what the designer had to say about the brand:
"L'arte de Lily is a collection that appeals to those who want to make a statement. The contrast between the vibrant hues and darker colors are what makes this collection a cut above and gives any wearer a sophisticated look. What inspired this collection was actually looking at my own wardrobe and my own personal style. It's sophisticated and classy without looking "cookie cutter."
... And I agree! The pieces really do make a statement for anyone who is wearing them and to be completely honest, I loved the way the looks were styled. You can dress the looks up, or you can dress them down. Fall is on its' way (it's practically here!) and these looks really capture a lot of fall trends. Rather it be the cut, color, fabric and how much of it - this collection was fabulous. Congratulations are in order!

      What Were They Thinking?: vasia28

I've been thinking about adding some new segments to the blog, but I wasn't sure what. So I figured, why not do something that's been around for quite some time. 'What Were They Thinking?'. A dedication to people that need a little help when it comes to dressing. It could even be a style icon, just you know, they have their days.

      Our first 'target': vasia28

      http://i54.tinypic.com/rj18gm.png

I mean, I really don't have much to say about this. You can see why I chose outfit for this particular segment. I am not sure what Vasia was trying to do, but it's all over the place - it truly is. It's not too late to redeem yourself though, sweetie!

      * Know someone who is sporting an awful outfit? Leave a comment below for a chance to have them featured in our daily 'What Were They Thinking?' segment!

** Do you guys like this idea for a segment, should I continue?

      Stardoll Fashion Week; Stay Tuned!

      Stardoll Fashion Week
Looks like Tyler's Top Trends is being taken over by Stardoll Fashion Week!

We will be publishing the most developed reviews on all the collections featured in this years fashion week. I am already loving this jam-packed week and it is keeping me busy to say the least!

Check back tomorrow for reviews on:
      • 'L'arte de Lily': a collection released by Lily Rose Todd
      • 'Eccentric Magazine': owned by Vanessa Mendieta
      • 'Coconut': a line created by Becka Lavendale and Nojmul Alfred-Darnley

Stardoll Fashion Week Day 2: Perfection

Last, but not least for the day (regarding Stardoll Fashion Week) is... Perfection. A collection by Lily Rose and Bruno Silva. Personally, I've been reading some other critic comments and they are not raving about this collection - but I do see potential in these designs, everyone has to grow and develop when it comes to anything they do. Sure the graphics are not very processed, but I get what they were trying to do, what they were trying to create and I applaud them for at least trying.

Here's what the creators of the line had to say about it:
"Perfection is a line that strives to compliment it's name. The clothes are meant to accentuate a woman's body with gentle florals, pastels, and laces that create a luxurious, feminine attire with someone of any physique."
And regarding that statement, it isn't as luxurious as it is feminine to me. I feel like some of the pieces could easily be paired with fishnets and instantly become trashy - so just a head up for your next collection guys! Maybe you could even turn it into a rocker chic line too. Who said sex and drugs wasn't glamourous? Depends on who you are I guess.

      View the whole collection below:

Nice runway design by the way!

What did you think about Perfection? Perfect?

Stardoll Fashion Week Day 2: Wonderland of E

Designer Egle Stone (vampire_) launched her new S/S 2011 accessory collection, 'Wonderland of E' during Stardoll Fashion Week today and I have to say, this girl hit it spot on! Of course her graphics need improving but who's couldn't? I am getting a timeless feel from this collection, maybe even a jungle theme.

Not really something you would look for for Fall, but the colours are sort of washed-out; which I like. Plus, she threw some scarves into the mix which balances it out a bit.

Review the full collection for yourself, below:

What are you thinking, hit or miss?

Stardoll Fashion Week Day 2: Runway Magazine

Earlier today during Stardoll Fashion Week, Editor-in-Chief Vasia28 debuted a brand-new issue of Runway Magazine and I am not too sure that I'm 'digging' it.

I couldn't really focus on the models or Covergirl because I was captivated by what they were wearing. I wasn't impressed. I love the idea of peace and fashion mixed together, but something just doesn't seem right to me. It seems almost too cheap.

I do applaud the team for taking part is this amazing fashion-packed week - but I honestly did expect more from this issue. Maybe more fashion? Also, when I was reading the article, 'Life in Dollywood'... I was easily and quickly uninspired by the fact that it read, "without the limitations the real world, anything is possible". (referring to Stardoll) What a bunch of bull, way to encourage everyone. Listen, let me break this down a little bit.

      Effort wise: amazing work!
      Professionally dedicated: not impressed.

It's simple and it's my opinion. What's yours?

      M by Marclea: Candy Collection

tI am terribly sorry, I do know that the posts have been kind of unorganized and all over the place - but I am in the process of hiring new writers and working on some new projects for the blog itself. I have said it before, I will say it again: bare with me!

Anyways, on with the post. Stardoll Fashion Week is the 'it' week, I assume, for all fashion lovers as well as providers to come together. So in honor of the ingenious week, designer Marcela has released a brand new Star Bazaar collection: Star Burst!

      http://i51.tinypic.com/2wcl6ic.jpg

We all know that her last collection was a huge success and all the pieces sold out very quickly. I am saying this because the designs are limited. From today until October 3rd is when you will be able to purchase this pattern. I myself think it is very cutesy and it really follows the trends for autumn and fall. You can never know what this girl will do next, her designs are really captivating Stardollians all across the web and she becoming quite the suite-hold name. Marcela is a designers, respect that.

Click here to purchase the design!
What do you think about Marcela's current collection?

      Mentioned: Stardoll Fashion Week

      Stardoll Fashion Week Kicks Off!

If you didn't already know, one of the most anticpated Stardoll events of the year is currently taking place! Stardol Fashion Week has officially begun. Although the event itself is amazing, I really want to focus on the talent that you can find within the brand...

      You know, the actual fashion.

      (Below is the schedule):

I understand that the image is a little small, making it somewhat hard to read. Bare with me! There is only one thing I have a problem with the fact that all the media partners are included except for a select few. We are basically publishing the same thing that bigger blogs have previously. Over, and over, and over again.

Too bad I have an opinion, my reviews will be released as soon as I check out the collections. Tyler's Top Trends will have a full coverage support system. Stay tuned!

      Icon Magazine Debuts!

Not bad, not bad at all!

      Reckless Magazine Exclusive

I'm not sure if you've heard, but there is a new magazine in town. You know, if you think about it - we all thought magazines were back and I really haven't seen many new issues of any for that matter. Keep your head up though, we go through these droughts. I've always wondered why everybody reveals new projects at the same time.

Reckless Magazine is the new magazine I am talking about. There is not much information being released about it just yet, but since Tyler's Top Trends is your go-to source, we just had to snag this exclusive! Take a look:

      Recherche, The World Issue

      http://i52.tinypic.com/27yd21.png

Recherche Magazine is gearing up for a new and - most likely terrific issue. The spoiler (above) was given to Tyler's Top Trends exclusively, but since I have been busy, I did not publish it in time. By now, I am pretty sure a few different blogs have this posted.

Anyways, this should be a good issue. I feel as if it is going to be mixing many different cultures and fashion religions into one whole phenomenon. We'll just have to wait and see.

Also, I am trying to get this blog updated, but school is out of control. Some of my current writers haven't been publishing anything, and I am not sure why. If you are interested in becoming a writer here - message me!

        Spring/Summer 2011!

Yes its that time of year again, where the best of the best get their front row seats, the models strut down the runway showcasing the designer's luxurious lines. Who knows what to expect when there is such diversity in each collection, I know I am going to be watching a few!

Of course, New York fashion week starts, with famous designers such as BCBGMAXAZRIA, DKNY, Diane Von Furstenberg, Carolina Herrera, and Betsey Johnson. These are the must-sees of New York fashion week, of course bigger and better designers present their lines throughout the next weeks in London, Milan and Paris. I am most excited about Paris' Fashion Week, for the fact that many of my favorite designers are going to release their collections that week, such as Balenciaga, Zac Posen, Nina Ricci, and my ultimate favorite designer Balmain.

To check out the schedules, click on the following sites, it will redirect you to the pages of each week (All bold lines are links).

Tyler's Top Trends Reaches 500 Followers!

I am so excited that I can't even sit still long enough to type this. Five hundred followers is a big 'landmark' for any blog owner - but for me, it's so surreal.

The reason being, I am so happy that I stuck with this blog and I haven't closed it down yet (laughs). Tyler's Top Trends is going to be Stardoll's go-to virtual fashion hot spot. I am hopefully going to have time to give this blog face lift and maybe we could plan a party - that would be fun, huh? Anyways, Style and I will be going through the prep style competition entries and a winner will be announced soon! Good luck everyone!

I hope the rest of your day is a good one. Be sure to keep checking back here for new posts and fun surprises, you all deserve them!

Covergirl Ain't what it Used to Be.

[please take this post with a pinch of salt if something in here applies to you]
[I am not trying to single people out, I am simply giving my opinion]

I'm sure that all members from 2007 to 2008 will know what I'm talking about when I say this.
Years ago, Stardoll came up with a cute little addition to our paperdoll heaven called "covergirl", and everybody was in love with the idea! One of those people being me. I thought it was a great way for people with beautiful medolls to get the recognition that they deserved.

Back then, only the girls with the most votes could win covergirl, these days, it seems as though only the girls with the most stardollars can win covergirl. Which in my eyes, is extremely unfair to the girls who work extremely hard on their suite, but have no stardollars.

If you have a couple of thousand just lying around, you'll automatically win covergirl, so long as you promise something in return to those who vote for you, for instance; a raffle, free LE or DKNY etc.

I think that nowadays, the people who win covergirl (sometimes) are undeserving. They just see covergirl as an opportunity to get a shiny trophy and a couple of friend requests, not as an opportunity for their hard work to be noticed. And to those people, I say tsk tsk.

        What do you think?

        New Doll: Alexa Chung

The latest doll for superstars only is Alexa Chung - who is she? Alexa Chung (born November 5, 1983) is a British Model and television presenter. She modelled for teen magazines such as Elle Girl and CosmoGIRL! After becoming a TV personality, Chung made a return to occasional modelling. In 2008, she was the face of both Australian fashion label Antipodium's S/S 2008 collection. In September 2008, Chung walked the catwalk as part of the Vivienne Westwood Red Label Spring/Summer 2009 show at London Fashion Week. In early 2009, she became the face of British high street giant New Look.

        HOT Dress

This Purple, Sparkling Beauty is the fastest selling LE Dress out of this whole season.
Aside from it's expertly designed shape and beautiful simplicity, this dress is also bang on trend for this coming season. The actual dress is designed by Victoria Beckham, the queen of Body-Con. I love this dress to bits, and it was one of the few things that I bought from this LE Collection. This dress gets full marks for everything!
If you're wearing this dress, just tell me in the comments and I'll add you to this post :)
