Today's Top Trends

Before one dives into the center of a blog, reading posts, taking part in providing feedback and eventually labeling that blog as a favorite among few, they like to catch a glimpse of the history, and those writers who are supplying them with information, competitions, controversy and drama. Today’s Top Trends has much history behind it, all of which has guided it through the past and into the present. It has been through its ups and downs, twists and turns, but it has come to be what it is today; something extraordinary.

Today’s Top Trends was known as many things in the past, but it’s most legendary title was created by our beloved Tyler. He has made this blog his most pride possession, and really put 110% into it day in and day out. Don’t hit us with, “What has he done? He is nothing but a fame whore.” Or “He only cares about himself. What’s so great about him?” You may not have the best relationship with Tyler or even any relationship at all; but he is an accomplished person, and truly has a great future ahead of him. We all have our faults, our bad days, and our struggles. You can’t hold it again us forever, we are only human. Mistakes are made, but in the end, it always works out some way, somehow. Let’s not go on for another hour though about how we make mistakes, won’t that be just a drag? Bottom line is, Tyler has had many great achievements, and he has shared an exceptional one with us all, TTT. It has the most potential now then it will ever, and is ready for a comeback.

TTT has gathered a team of fresh, innovative faces to show off, but has kept a few previous ones to still capture the essence of what we all know and love. Our latest writers include; Lana Addison, Chace Clark, Rihanna Cole, Selena Marilyn De Ville, Linus Leonardsson, Amanda Lucy, Melinda Pires, and Eliza Spears. We asked one of TTT’s previous writers, Aislin, to be associated with our team, and we were honored when she accepted our invitation. She has been a previous writer for Tyler’s Top Trends, and we are thankful to have her back for good. Each of our writers will be posting a little bit about themselves so you can get a taste of what to expect in the future.

Our renovation was directed towards Kimberly and me. We adore flowers, bright things, but with a touch of cutesy pinks. This would have not been possible to create into a blogger theme if we didn’t have Lana! Lana is an experienced graphic artist who can create just about anything. She knew exactly what we wanted, and turned it into something unimaginable. She has been working on this banner for a little over a week, and it truly shows that she is remarkable in each and every way.

Here at Today’s Top Trends, we enjoy giving our readers things to look forward to so they can stay active and involved. We have put together some features that we are sure you’ll enjoy. These features include; poll questions, competitions, Face of TTT, guest writers, reviews, and exclusive stardoll interviews. We have more coming towards your way as well, but that will remain a surprise. We would also like to congratulate Deidra for winning our most recent competition! Her entry was truly stunning, and she walked away with a massive 1,000 stardollars in prize money. There will be loads of incredible competitions coming up over the nearby months, but this Christmas is going to be an excellent one, I can assure you.

Now, it’s time to hear your feedback. What do you think about the new and improved TTT? Will you be reading our posts day in and day out? How about participating in the competitions? TTT is back and here to stay.

*Thanks to Aislin for a few ideas*

Give Me That NOW

As I started to think about what's actually going on in fashion right now, it stroke me how much we've missed during the last months. The mayor fashion weeks, aka. our holy time, just ended, the news of Raf Simons quitting Jil Sander (and converting to Dior-ism?) is old news, Miuccia Prada's heels which almost got the models killed has already been loathed and loved and the news of that the last standing french family ruled label á la italian Missoni, Sonia Rykiel, has been bought by japanese investors is no longer a shock.

At the moment, the most exciting thing to post about seems to be the teaser of Madonna's newest music video, starring Jon Kortajarena, Simon Nessman and Sean O'Pry, but then again, this being practically a week old, it has already been posted everywhere twice. So I question, is the fashion world going too quickly into the future? In my most recent post but this one I almost felt late publishing the new (?) cover of Acne Paper when an entire day had passed. Who hadn't already seen the previews on Style.com or Vogue.fr? Moda Operandi  is also a sign of our "give me that now"-attitude.

In order to calm the fast looks to the future, let's stay up and observe the past. Yohji Yamamoto once said: "With my eyes turned to the past, I walk backwards into the future." Maybe that's how we must continue to not collapse in our own rapid speed - observe how the veterans like Lee McQueen, Carine Roitfeld and Gabrielle  "Coco" Chanel executed their work.
Jade Parfitt at Alexander McQueen S/S 2001
I'd like to hear your opinions. Is the fashion world turning into a capitalist machine where designers and industry people constantly must produce and sell to survive? Should we walk our ways backwards into the future, or simply continue on as we're doing now?

Back Where I Started

Here I find myself, back at TTT with new owners and a new direction. This blog began my "Stardoll career" as a blog writer, when it was owned by Tyler. And for that I am grateful. It opened my eyes to new possibilities and opportunities that I was once oblivious to. I want to thank Erica and Kimberly for offering me a position here. And I hope the readers somehow manage to acquire a taste for me(:

DbG: The Interview

Hello everybody! Diva6723, otherwise known as Gwen, has been working on a fabulous new line called Diva by Gwen. It is set to be released very tuned (how exciting!) and the graphic designer is the one and only Samantha Leigh. (http://stardoll.redneckbelle.net/)

A few days ago, I had a little chat with Gwen  about the upcoming Fashion Collection; set to be on SFW (Stardoll Fashion Week)... Here's what she said:
What inspired you to create a Fashion Line?
Well....I suppose it all started with me just sketching designs, I loved making clothes and I love drawing fashion even at a young age, and eventually I was like, why don't I just create my own fashion line? It eventually just sort of snowballed into me getting more and more invested into my sketches, and I started drawing Fashion Shows on paper and now, thanks to some very amazing friends, I'll be able to have my line on the internet!
In one word how can you describe this upcoming collection?
Fantasy.
After this next collection, is that the end of DIVA, or are there going to be another collection?
There is absolutely going to be another collection if I can manage not to annoy my graphic designers so much that they quit! I do have a fall collection halfway made, almost ready to go so I'll have that set up, and I'm already sketching out new stuff, so yes I plan on having more collections in the future.

Below is what I call a spoiler, but it's just their sample to give to Becka for 'Stardoll Fashion Week'.

WINNER of Top Model Competition

Kimberly, Amanda, and I have each looked through your creations thoroughly, and decided the winner of this competition. Just to refresh your dime-sized minds (sarcasm!), the whole point of this competition was to construct a re-created look of your favorite Top Model’s outfit. All of you did a fantastic job, but there was only one person who truly went that extra mile to make something extraordinary. We would like to congratulate… Deidra! Right when we saw her outfit, our minds were blown away with how much effort she put in. Just so you know how good of a job she did, we’ve provided Deidra’s inspiration, and her creation.

Congratulations Dei! You deserved those 1,000 shiny stardollars.

A Nordic Tribute To Chanel!

Hello fashionable fellows, how are  you? Let me introduce myself shortly before I start; Linus Leonardsson is my name, Dog_boy96 on stardoll. I'm a 14 years old boy from Stockholm, Sweden who's got the grand honor of becoming one of the new writers for the one & only TTT! Lovely, isn't it? Here I will write about fashion & modeling, both stardoll-based as well as real-life based.

Anyhow, enough about me & going on with the post, I'm sure some of you must have heard about the newest collaboration of Chanel. The Swedish photography duo of Peter Farago & Ingela Klemetz-Farago has got the golden opportunity to work privately with the French fashion house. The theme of the project is Chanel in the Nordic, which means that Scandinavian models [such as Freja Beha Erichsen, Sigrid Ågren, Frida Gustavsson, Carmen Kass, Siri Tollerod etc.] are being photographed in typical Scandinavian & Nordic environments. The works will later at the 30th of June be opened up for the public to admire at Fotografiska in Stockholm. A book will also be published for everyone to buy here, with the foreword being written than no one else but Karl Lagerfeldt. Here are a few of the pictures which has already leaked out for us all to admire:

Sigrid Ågren
Theres Alexandersson & Linn Arvidsson
Siri Tollerod
Dorothea Barth-Jörgenssen
Amazing, are they not? & what is even more amazing, is that parts the money which will be made from the purchased books will go to the childhood-found of Save the Children! Both fashionable & fun, but helping as well! I know I'm crazy about this, but now I want to hear Your opinion about it! What do you think about the pictures? & what's your opinion about the project itself?

Fresh Face!

Why hello lovely readers of Today's Top Trends!

I may introduce myself before I start with my first little post. Melinda Pires. The fresh face here at TTT. I am going to write about fashion and modeling. In the real world as well as on Stardoll.

For my first ever post I thought about showing you something different. Or rather someone different. Kristen McMenamy. You don't know her? Oh my. I have a lot to do! So Kristen is not exactly a 'fresh face',but one of the best high fashion models the world has ever seen! Her looks are unique but she still is a beautiful woman [at the age of 46!] If I could have such a body at that age.. Anyways, I will show just you what impresses me so much and I guess you will understand what I mean. Did I mention that she is still strutting the runways of Chanel?

The second and the third photo are from the recent Jean Paul Gaultier campaign. I just love her body language! And now some photos of how she used to look like in the 80's:

Interesting to see a Vogue cover of that time, huh? Having her break through moment when she decided to shove off her eye brows, she became one of the real supermodels of that time, though she isn't mentioned that much. But you know what? The best [high fashion] models are always the ones not everybody knows! Her eyebrows grew back but she now has them bleached and not to forget the hair color! She still stands out.

In a good way? That is something I would like to hear from you! Do you think her old, more mainstream look was better? Or was is the right thing to go a little crazy?

I am thrilled to hear what you think!

Au revior, Melinda

Runway Initiation

Here's Chace! A brand new writer for Today's Top Trends. I'm pretty excited about being a writer for this wonderful blog and I hope you'll like my posts here. My job is to write about Stardoll; as well as real life fashion, trends and modelling.

As you may know the Resort 2012 fashion shows started some days ago, and I recently strarted having a flick through the colections on Style.com, which is one of the best fashion sites on the web. I have to say, some of them are really great but some are just plain boring. Here are my favourites at the moment...

Valentino

Versace

Louis Vuitton

Not only in real life though, the catwalks are heating up in preparation for SFW SS'12 shows in Dollywood aswell! Many designers are preparing their collections for the upcoming week, and I'm super excited about it. If you're interested, you can still apply till early August!  Hopefully I'll have a collection in it, and my magazine may be a part of it aswell. My collection would be called Chérie (check it out here) which is French for darling, and my magazine's name is Posh, which you can check out here! It'll be premiering in the Summer, and here is the spoiler... Don't forget to follow and comment!

So which one is your favourite collection of Resort 2012?
Are you excited about SFW SS'12?

Welcome back.

Hello readers!

How are you all doing? First of all, I just want to say sorry for all the confusion and mishap about TTT in the past few days. But I can now confirm that myself (xxlovexx) and Erica (a_true_beauty) both own the wonderful, Today's Top Trends. Our renovation is coming soon, and I can guarantee that it'll be stunning. It'll be made by a true artist, so.. get excited!

You may be wondering where Eamonn has gone, but the story really is quite lengthy. So to put a long story short, TTT made myself and Eamonn argue alot. It was over nothing, anything we could think of, and in reality, it sort of ruined our friendship. So Eamonn has now given the blog to me, saying that he doesn't want us to argue anymore. I'm incredibly happy and thought this was so kind of Eamonn.

But no way I can run this blog alone! I just feel like this specific blog needs two owners to run it. So that, through anything, this blog will still be active. That's why I have chosen the wonderful Erica to be co-owner! She is a kind, caring and talented girl who has a gift for writing. She is extremely friendly and is one of the nicest girls on Stardoll. Let's be honest though, her talent hasn't really been recognised around Stardoll, so I think this will be a brilliant chance for her to show her amazing skills in both writing and running a huge blog.

I know that recently Eamonn decided to change the blog title to 'Today's Top Topics', but I just didn't feel that the name fitted properly. So I am changing it back to Today's Top Trends, but will keep the same agenda as Eamonn. Creating fake gossip, Stardoll fashion and modelling, new projects, as well as posting about juicy real-Dollywood stuff! But I can guarantee you, this blog will not be the same!

Writers... This blog will be hiring numerous new writers as well as keeping old ones, it'll also be going under a massive renovation, just to add a little bit of spice to the blog. Makeover-wise, the blog will be in fresh greens and calm blue tones, with a banner to die for, coming very soon! Don't you worry though, we will have writers appications up soon! We'll also be handpicking new writers, so if you get chosen, consider yourself very lucky indeed!

That is about all for now, but don't worry, we'll be back soon for some more updates on the whole new Today's Top Trends! In the meantime, why not follow us, and check out some of our awesome media partners! Just a note, we're also requiring new media partners too, there will be a new apply tab for that soon enough, so keep a look out!

~Kimbery & Erica.
