Beauty Parlour Update

I cannot be the only one who finds it exceedingly annoying when you do your makeup ever so well aside from one blemish, but have to remove it all so you can correct that mistake. Worry no more, Stardoll has added a new feature which enables you to remove one specific part of your makeup by the simple click of a button.

As the image represents, you can see that Stardoll has really taken criticism about this on the chin. They haven't just given us an option to remove eye makeup, lip products and blushes.. They have given us choices to remove eyebrow pencil, mascara, liner and eyeshadow for both eyes and then an option to remove both lipstick and/or liner. There is also a tab where you are able to remove blush products, but I didn't have any blusher on hense the reason why the button did not show up.

Over all I think this is a great addition to the Stardoll beauty parlour and now making one little shadow or liner stain won't become a total hindrance. What do you think of this new add-on?  ~Kimberly

Our Love Hate Relationship With Stardoll

The blogging world allows us to freely express our opinions on stardoll without having to deal with the sensory of curse words, or even words that stardoll thinks is bad. It also allows us to write more than 250 words (the limit amount of characters per guestbook comment), and use pictures other than the ones we took with our dolly-camera. With these limits on stardoll, you'd be sure long gone, but quite frankly, that's the complete opposite.

Why do we stay on this one website beyond many others? Its simply because we all truly hate stardoll. Multiple protests rage across stardoll daily, allowing us to dislike what stardoll is doing. The example I've provided to the right (if I may recall, it is made by the lovely hrly) shows just how much effort we put forth into creating brilliant graphics, campaigns, and movements just to show our absolute disapproval of stardoll. Its even believable enough that is makes our immune system sick of stardoll's actions. Our hate is directly sent to the headquarters of stardoll, and there we let them know we want change. It even gets serious enough that we threat to leave their site. But do we go through with it? Why of course not. We put even more effort into creating change until we see stardoll has finally've decided to do something about their "awful" ideas.

Denying you hate stardoll is just useless. We've all came to the point where we feel in our darkest hours, but obviously since we're all still here, never have stopped logging onto stardoll. The problem has yet to be diagnosed, its still agreeable for some reason we hate stardoll so much that we can't stop loving it.

What makes this site so irresistible? It might be our hate, or just the undeniable addiction we have to dressing up our virtual medolls, and buying the latest furniture collection to make your suite look amazing. Anger seizes to grab a hold of our attention, only allowing residents of dollywood to expect better. I'm not afraid to admit I have true hate towards stardoll, yet it gives me a fight to get justice. The example I've provided off on the left (made by yissy123) shows the true passion we have towards hating stardoll, yet that's what keeps the site alive. We all hate stardoll, one way or another, though some may not even realize it, but that's the real reason why we are still on stardoll.

And to end this post on a shy note,
I've provided an image that'll raise your spirits more than what the pictures worth. *wink

April Hotbuys!

Hello stardollies! Jillian Rebekah here with some hotbuys updates! Below is the new April Hotbuys! (Sorry the image is poor quality!) I actually do like the new hotbuys for this upcoming month. They are splendidly spring-colored and certainly got me in the mood for some sunshine! From a girly polka-dot bustier styled top to the punkier laced up pants, I found the hotbuys intriguing and very appropriate for the bran new Spring Season. What do you all think of these new hotbuys? A straight on hit, or miss?

Also below I have a picture of the lovely  "Hot Buys Necklace" from the April 2009 collection. I thought it would be kind of fun to have a weekly favorite Hot Buy from any year! Have any favorites, comment below and your medoll just might be featured wearing it! (:
Thank you for reading, and be sure to keep watching for new Hotbuys!

Goodbye, PSG.

After several years of capturing Dollywood's juiciest gossip and making Stardoll history, the momentous blog Perez Hilton of Stardoll has decided to close down.

Long gone are the days when the loophole was the top rated scandal and Style_Magazine was churning out issues of her magazine, PSG had turned into a haven for disaster without Perez's guidance over the blog.

Many think of Perez as the pioneer of gossip on Stardoll and the blog has certainly made history... PSG will be greatly missed.

Werk it, Condé Nast!

Before it's in fashion, it's in Vogue. The publishing company Condé Nast, which is hosting the worldwide biggest magazines, recently launched a newcomer to their under-empire named Vogue. Let me introduce Vogue Nederland. The dutch version of the originally american fashion magazine which is by many considered the bible of fashion is set to stores at the first of april, this year. Pictures has though already been leaked (duh) and so I once again present Vogue Nederland:
Personally, I find this cover boring as ever. But once again, I think that all of the Vogue's upcoming april issues has been covered with a dull picture. Vogue Paris, for example. It's hard to make Givenchy look boring, but they certainly succeeded! Anyway, back to Holland. As said, the cover isn't striking. The editorial work however, is something to look closer on.
See? They're beautiful! The lightning is very new thinking. Loved by some, hated by some, the blurriness which at least Grace Coddington at American Vogue admires is present. I'm not quite sure how this will develop in the future, what do you think?

Hotbuys With Jillian Rebekah

Hello stardollies! My name is Jillian Rebekah and I am a new writer here at this divine blog, Today's Top Trends! I just wanted to formally introduce myself and explain what I shall be writing about in the future. I also wanted to thank Miss Kimberly for accepting my application and giving me the opportunity to write for all of you fabulous followers. I have been assigned to talk about the brand new hotbuys when they first arrive in the Starplaza. Also I will be showing some of the hottest medolls that are wearing lovely assortments of hotbuys, new or old. So be sure to look for my newest posts all about Hotbuys! I know I am quite late for posting the March Hotbuys, but here is is below. Looks like we have a brand new coat coming out tomorrow and a brand new jewelry piece next week!

Reduction of My Original Introduction

Hello!
My name is Kasey and I'm a new writer here at Today's Top Trends. I had planned on writing a post about the color orange and it's compliment, blue, but that will have to wait till Spring Break which is next week. In this post, I'm merely going to introduce myself and give you a few insights into my writing.

I'm going to set a few things straight:
1. I'm not always going to write about clothes or makeup. My topic is Trends on Stardoll, and that could range from anything between graphics to sceneries.
2. I'm not always going to stay on topic. Staying on topic could ruin the chances of getting my point through to you, the reader.
3. I'm always going to try my hardest and bring my best skills to the table, because I am a perfectionist. But perfection is nothing but flaws that haven't realized who they are. It's simply about giving all you can in order to please and entertain the readers.

I'm hoping to write for you more in the future and I'd love to give my gratitude to Kimberly who approved my application!

Thanks again,
         -Kasey:)

Why Do You Have To Be So Mean?

Keep in mind while reading, I am a writer entitled to my own opinion. Composing a post targeted to certain people is never something I completely enjoy talking about, but I feel when the issue arises, it should be addressed.

One of my biggest pet peeves is when one calls another out for speaking their mind. Its completely understandable to be afraid to listen to others opinions on your work (art, writing, etc.), but when the time seems right, those people decide to speak up. Suddenly, a rush and sensation fills that person's head, but when those responses appear, those who spoke their thoughts land upon ground zero.

I've brought this issue to attention because I daily see people being bullied, and in our cases, cyber bullied. Swear words is only the beginning, and when you see someone threatening to kill another, or encouraging a stardoll member to commit suicide, its a serious issue that has yet to be addressed. Lets take a look at these bullies, shall we?

How would you like to receive one of these guestbook comments? These have already've been posted on the internet, for their victim to see. Not only on stardoll does this happen, but the sites you know and love are some of the biggest bullying sites, like facebook or twitter.

I'd most like to focus on is what happens to someone when they've gotten the courage to speak their mind through writing. Blogging is a common interest of many on stardoll, there are well over a thousand bloggers out there (and this is only stardoll blogs!), and more than double the readers. With those many readers, its frustrating to get some comments on your posts, but even more difficult coping with the threats from the readers, and harsh thoughts. Take a look at these comments.

Possibly you've seen this comment before on another blog, but I wanted to show it to TTT as well. First of all, I am friends with this person, though I don't like what she did, I can forgive her for her mistake. Never the less, calling someone a "bitch" is completely uncalled for. Who gives you any right to brutally criticize someone who clearly wasn't trying to hurt anyone? Hmm, didn't think anyone. Plus, shaming someone is one of the worst things you can do. You are basically putting the heavy weights on your prey, leaving them to suffer. Please think next time before hurting another human being.

Though its hard to tell who is anonymous, one thing for sure, they are our worst nightmares. This is a serious cyberbullying case. This victim is literally being threatened her own life, how awful! Even if someone did something wrong, it shouldn't have to go to this point.

As I leave this moment for thought, I'd like to remind each and every one of you to think before you go ahead and puncture someone's life. Its not worth it, and the results are never satisfying.

Limited Edition: Review

Today came the long-awaited 13th collection of Limited Edition.

It is a hawaiian type collection. It is based mainly of pastel colours and lots of items that look like they could have been pulled straight from the beach, though not a couture beach I must say. Being completely honest, I feel as though some items looked as though they were Monster High but the look of the store really pulled that back.

Floor 1 - Prices ranging from 30 - 200 stardollars.
The store design was inspired by the Chanel Spring 2012 runway which you could buy in the suite shop for 100sd. It wasn't limited though which is a major setback, as you would expect something of 100 stardollars to atleast be slightly limited.

There was a minor glitch with the shop as only a few hours after original release the store was removed, items gone from search and the new section and available to sell in the starbazaar. This was later fixed and with the returnal of the store came better looking mannequins and a few other small changes.

Floor 2 - Prices once again ranging from 30 - 200 stardollars.
Although I love the look of the store, I can't help feeling it looks a tad cluttered. I'd love to see the next collection with better spread out mannequins. And take note Stardoll; the store looks so much nicer when the mannequins are posed! I also love it when the store actually looks like a shop. I did love the interiors last collection, but I prefer it when the store actually does look like one.

The quality of the clothes are pretty good compared to the previous collection. It still cannot be compared to the first five editions but is a definite improvement from the last. As I mentioned before, some items look like Monster High rejects. This collection definitely reminds me of season 2 and season 11 although a bit sluttier, dare I say. Take the second look on floor two for example, it would look so much better being an all in one dress rather then the three pieces that it is (top, belt and skirt).

Floor 3 - Prices ranging from 25 - 200 stardollars.
The clothes aren't actually very limited this season. The most limited item, to my knowledge, is the McQueen inspired Sea Blue Sequin Purse (55sd) with 1150 pieces. I do hope that Stardoll realises the fact behind the stores not selling as fast as they used to... Too many items and too many of them!

Almost as dresses had prices marked between 150 - 200 stardollars. The shoes and bags really stood out this collection with almost all being inspired by McQueen. There was also some animated items which looked as though they had some sort of sea breeze blowing over them.

Floor 4 - Prices ranging from 40 to 200 stardollars.
If this collection was a tiny bit smaller, better laid out in the store and had less Monster High lookalike pieces and more all in ones it would be seriously great. I am the first to admit it, LE has lost it's charm, edginess and elegance... but at the end of the day there are still some pretty darn nice pieces!

It has been around 4 hours since original release and four items are sold out so far. See what I mean? I bet atleast 1/4 of this collection would have sold out if there were less pieces. That is all for my review of Limited Edition, what are your thoughts on the collection?

The Flight to Excellence

Striving for excellence has always been my forte. I've tried many times to achieve greatness, however the majority of the time, I've barely struggled out of the bottom. Cracking the lid to success is just one of my many difficulties, though that's what keeps my untamed dreams alive.

Some of you may know me, though its probably safer to suggest I'm just another name you've probably looked past. I go by the name of Lindsey Le'Vogue, or LoveGossip4life on stardoll. To be quite honest, I was completely shocked when I was asked to contribute to Today's Top Trends, its one of my favorite blogs, and never has failed to disappoint. I hope to write to the best of my abilities, as it is one of my only outlets where I feel my opinions are appreciated.

If I may say so myself, I'm that type of girl who is afraid to speak my mind, and with more than 800 other voices to suggest their thoughts, its a bit mind-wrecking. Like I've mentioned, I feel as if writing is a way to speak my real thoughts, not what comes out of my mouth (I'm the quiet, shy girl, if you ask me...).

Anyways, I hope to dazzle you all, as I am so excited to finally stress what's going on within stardoll. I'm very excited to finally be recognized for what I'm told, my gift of writing.

Number 13

This cover came as a lightning from a nowadays so vague fashion heaven. Only yesterday we could admire beautiful Thomas Sottong on the cover of the latest issue of Acne Paper - No. 13. AP is known for its thimatical issues, and for this time a theme which is a constant part of our lives, unlike the issue before this one's youth-theme, was picked - the body.

This is what editor in chief, Thomas Persson, says about this issue: “We were interested in looking at the body from an artistic angle, one that is broader than the general representation of the human form in magazines today. I find that we are so obsessed with modern, rather boring beauty ideals, the perfectly chiseled, impersonal bodies often lacking in humanity, history, and a life lived. So we wanted to look at the human form as an inspiration beyond that.”
A few weeks back we were all presented to the A/W 2012 collection of Acne. Strange proportions, new shapes and vivid colours were the leading factors of it. In fact, these factors were all influenced below one main influence - the body. Acnestudios are certainly under inspiration of our anatomy. Let's see what that leads to in the future, shall we?

But back to the magazine. The cover was shot by Julia Hetta and the entire issue can be sneaked on here. Personally I find Acne Paper to be one of few refreshing stick ups in an otherwise so mainstreamed range of fashion magazines. What do you think?

Do The Yamamoto

Well, hello. Remember me? I must say I certainly hope you do, haha. It's only been 7 months. And before the question pops up in your mind I shall answer you - no, I'm not back on stardoll. Then what is this, you might ask? TTT, of course! I'm back on TTT, to write about real life related fashion. I'm the, as Kimberly so fiercely calls me, Fashion Worldwide reporter. In either way, I'll start up smoothly. Here I'll present 3 out of a 15 page spreaded editorial by Nielsen Omvik for Bon Magazine. It's centered about Yohji Yamamoto, the living legend of Paris Fashion Week. Professional dancers Andrea and Luis from the Cullbergs Ballet portrays her artwork through dance. Enjoy!
Fierce, huh? To see the entire editorial click here. If you've got any special wishes or ideas for how my writing here shall be as pleasant for everyone as possible, please let me know so in the comments field!
