[I know this post has already been done my Khol, but like she said, that's her opinion, and I would like to give mine]
Monday 6th of May was one of the
most fashionable nights on the fashion calendar, the MET GALA. All the stars
were out in support of their chosen fashion designers to pay honour to this
years extravagant theme; ‘Punk: Chaos To Couture’. Each year, I get super excited about streaming the red carpet event live from my bedroom, watching
some of the world’s biggest models, celebrities, and fashion designers grace
the unnecessary long steps into the exhibition room to where the exciting event
is taking place, but hey? The red carpet is the most exciting moment of the
night.
Honestly, I was quite disappointed in the
majority of the celebrities joining the eagerly anticipated event of the year,
for instance; Kristen Stewart, if possible this year’s theme was made for her;
edgy, fresh and punk, all things Stewart is. And of course, Nicki Minaj – I
know she is trying to transcend from a kuku-doll to a well respected female
rapper, but once again, this could have been her year to pull out all of the
stops, but unfortunately, she had to settle for this incredibly tacky Tommy
Hilfiger, and to be quite frank; she looks more ghetto than “punky”.
- Eamonn's Best Dressed List (annotated) -
Rooney Mara wore this outrageous costume gown
from Givenchy by the man of the night, Riccardo Tisci. Mara was one of the
first to hit the carpet along with Tisci on her arm, and I must say, I wasn't disappointed. Everything about this dress is phenomenal, although if I were to
nitpick I would much rather the sleeves to be at least two inches shorter.
In total, I give this look 9/10
Cara Delevingne has one of the world’s funniest and sweetest
personalities, and her outfit at this year’s Gala makes her the perfect girl.
Cara was dressed head-to-toe in Burberry which wasn't too surprising. Miss
Vogue’s debut covergirl looked all things edgy and sexy in this floor length
studded dress. Cara accessorised her look with Dominic Jones and Eddie Borgo jewellery, but
unfortunately, I thought the clutch bag was too much for the entire look. I
thought it was too big and too bha! Although, Delevingne could have added a
little mirrored cuboid clutch to improve her look. Hair & make-up,
beautiful.
In total, I give this look 9/10
Another
beauty at the affair, Beyoncé Knowles. Beyoncé was one of the chairmen of the
event alongside fellow designer Riccardo Tisci, who is the wonderful creator
of Queen B’s look. Beyoncé received a lot of criticism about this look – but I must
say, am I the only one who actually likes the look in its entirety? Well, I must say, there could have some
adjustments made to the styling side of things. After a long time of examine B’s
look, I found a few flaws that could have been prevented. The belt I love, but wouldn't it look much better if it was slimmer; as it'll make her waist look
slimmer? Beyoncé and Kim K both sported the same trend wearing matching gloves,
which honestly, I did not like. I thought it was too much as both their looks
were quite busy anyways so adding gloves wasn't necessary.
In
total, I give this look 8/10

not only is this extremely late, but, also redundant. Next time, either collaborate, write yours first, or keep your opinion to yourself.
ReplyDeleteSome Of us has school. Also, if you don't like the post, why bother reading and commenting on it?
Delete& I wasn't sure if I was going to post this post, so that also delayed it too.

DeleteThat anon comment was unnecessary, I didn't read it really, but it seems like a shorter, well-rounded best dressed list - someone who doesn't want to read Khol's large post can just look at this for some of the night's best outfits.
DeleteA re-cap if you will.
I loved Beyonce's outfit as well, yet I wasn't fond of the boots and gloves at all. Jennifer Lawrence's outfit was my favorite of all, but she looked like she was going to the Melbourne Cup. Not that it's a bad thing.
ReplyDeleteNo offense but how come you liked Kim Kardashian's outfit? It was horrifying :/
ReplyDeleteLovely post nontheless!
Honestly, I loved it. This look would have been perfect for her if she didn't have her baby bump. Also it would have made her look much nicer from the shoulders upwards if it was all open instead of closed! (:
DeleteI hated it also. She looked like a flower bush. The theme was punk, not garden couture. lol
DeleteI actually LOVE THIS omg haha what is ur dolls name need to add you omg and Kim did look a bit hot and omg Beyoncé outfit was to KILL for
ReplyDeleteHahaha, my username is FashionnGirl. [with the period]
DeleteMy favorite at the Gala party was Sarah Jessica Parker!
ReplyDeleteYes, that head piece was brilliant!
DeleteSeriously? I hated her outfit!
DeleteI don't really like watching such shows as they take a long time & I get bored of them, but I like seeing the pictures in magazines or the fashion highlights television edition of 'hits & misses' or 'do's & dont's'. I think that's why this blog is interesting it covers both reality fashion & stardoll fashion. BUT I didn't like the Kim Kardashian outfit, I saw the picture earlier in week in an entertainment website & thought 'What on earth is she wearing?' The style of her outfit may be nice but there is too much going on in the fabric, I think she wanted to take the attention away from her figure by wearing that fabric but that's a miss not a hit.
ReplyDeleteFashionnGirl, I thought there was also another blogger called fashionman?
