Give It A Rest Already...

Maybe you've heard, but MDM is making a reappearance. My reaction to the return was probably equivalent to a five year old on Christmas morning. After all, who wouldn't be pleasantly surprised to find Noelle (or Isabella, I honestly can't tell...) poised behind a computer screen, writing with undeniable passion?

In the words of an icone here's what they had to say about the reappearance...

"The beloved MDM blog is at its rightful owners once again.

And why shouldn't it be?

Denying the owners' access to their own blog is unforgivable.
And stripping them off completely is just plain disrespectful.
MDM does not owe anyone any explanation.

NO

Especially not you"

The last part didn't seize to entertain my active mind. I definitely didn't notice the indirect attack. I waited a few days, silently wondering if this was all but a bluff. I mean, Noelle was gone for over a year. But, I was surprised when post after post was established, completely contradicting my original thoughts. By this point my curiosity had slowly faded into pure amusement.

"After what seemed to be a needless drama about that last person who kicked us out (whom we kicked back OUT harder), MDM is having a HUGE overhaul of the whole blog from what was left from it (whoever thought that the tacky blue-green damask background was cute is certainly disturbed). In the next couple of weeks, MDM will be undergoing a HUGE restoration from writers, to graphics to the overall look & feel."

I do not know Aislin very well, but from tracking MDM ever since she gained ownership, visually I could tell she put a ton of blood, sweat, and tears into the making of the blog. Including a handful of stardollars too, if your forgetting about the gorgeous, and now completely tarnished graphics. Although, lets not forget about Dei, either. She helped a tremendous amount as well.

And to be completely honest here, I think the current state MDM is in right now is much tackier than it was just days before.

The general idea here is a simple one. With a dash of misunderstanding, an overdose of immaturity, and a slice of slurred irrationality, Noelle has indeed gotten her point across. And its as clear as a bell. Though, I must confess, there's one final question lingering in the air...

Maybe Noelle forgot to attend her weekly anger management class?

Teen Vogue: Review

In recent days the first edition of Teen Vogue was released. Comparisons to Teen Style have been made although this particular Teen Vogue (hollyoaksrocks*) actually holds no connections with the success story of Vogue Magazine, controlled by the powerhouse Jelinna... which will certainly make things confusing if Jelinna does perhaps wish to one day create a teen edition of her popular magazine.

THE COVER: I personally believe that the cover of any magazine must be a strong point to entice readers into the issue. I cannot say that this cover did that.

Firstly, the text on the cover explains the truths of the average teenager in this current time, the truth of media and how teenage years which are often portrayed as girly and fun times in many media assets often do not live up to their description...

From this I feel as though the cover graphic really contradicts the whole message Khol is trying to send out. The rough truths of teenage life and media attention?... The cover certainly isn't telling me that.

I also dislike the placement and variety of texts used on the image. Anyone that knows me is aware of my thoughts on texts on covers so I was slightly baffled again by the cutesy and colourful writing used on the front image of the magazine.

GRAPHICS: For a magazine that lacked any real content I was slightly surprised to see the small amount of graphics, with there only being 6 proper images in total, without counting the double usage of the cover graphic. Another thing that particularly confuses me about the magazine is the lack of theme or any real organisation. The few graphics in the magazine are placed in completely random positions and don't have any relevance, on a whole, to the surrounding articles (or lack of articles... again). On a positive note, the graphics the magazine did have were all well made.

EDITORIALS: On the contents page it reads "Fashion Editorials" Hm. There were none. I personally would consider an editorial 2 or more graphics showing one prominent theme or trend. I failed to see this, which once again could be down to the random placement of the graphics.

Creativity: I would have awarded points to the creativity of the teen inspired topics but considering the length and lack of proper formatting of the two teen articles shown they won't be given.

WRITING STYLE: As mentioned previously there were a very small number of articles, a small amount of content and an oddly large amount of pages for a perfume editorial.  The two teen inspired articles consisted of one page and big writing. The reasonably interesting article on Marina & The Diamonds is sadly nothing more than a copy and paste job from Wikipedia being the only proper length  article the magazine has. I dislike the way the two mini articles on teens are set out but the message behind them is a good one, and written better they could have been very good.

OVERALL: For a first issue it's alright, nothing overly special but nothing bad either. There is no real theme or content and it all seems to be a bit of a jumble of pages. I have high hopes for this magazine as I believe with a stronger theme, Khol's great ideas and better management and organisation it could do very well. What are your thoughts on this magazine?

Fashion Exam #4

Hey dolls! We're back for a new term!
To start off with a bang we have two very interesting outfits to mark.

Cooldeer123 (tania) and Emmahunt4 (hilmy)

Guys, what is going on? Tania: I sort of like it but then I don't. The hat is ridiculous and doesn't go with the outfit, along with the random leopard print bag. The rest is nice though.
Hilmy: I don't even know what to say, what the hell are you doing? Firstly you have this horrendous sweater then you have some tin foil gloves and boots. Are you attempting to cook yourself?

Well say no more, here are you grades;

Tania

Outfit = D-
Shoes = B
Makeup = C
Hair = C

Overall Grade = C- or 65%

Hilmy

Outfit = G
Shoes = G
Makeup = D
Hair = C

Overall Grade = F or 40%

Well, Tania you just about passed! but Hilmy, you failed badly,

Tania you passed with a C- / 65% - The outfit was just too quickly put together in my opinion.
Hilmy you failed with an F / 40%  - Nothing could of helped this outfit, maybe if you burnt it, you would of got an A.

Until next time,

Khol X

A Change in Perspective

After a rather long day, I got a refreshing guestbook comment, and to say the least, it made my day, or rather rest of the day.

Intrigued, I visited Perspective.

According to her/him, they are doing this for a good reason. I thought it was really kind to go around and give compliments to various stardoll users. So, in an end to a good-turned-great day, thank you perspective, this is just what Dollywood needed.

What do you think of what she's/he's doing?
