House of Worth Tribute Store! Wishful Thinking...

I am one of those people who just love glamour! If I had the money, I would only wear amazingly glamourous floor length gowns every day! I'm serious! I would love to sit on a extraordinary sofa in a big country house or mansion, wearing a black diamond studded floor length gown and the biggest fur stole you ever saw, oh don't forget the Christian Louboutin platform pumps! Oh, stop me before I max out my credit card! Again...

There are times when I think that I was born into the wrong century! I would fit in in the 1800's so damn good! Ah, imagine it, being a socialite, invited for tea in all kinds of posh houses, going to court to kiss the Queen's rings, having your own personal seamstress who would bend over backwards for your satisfaction. (Get your mind out of the gutter) ;D

anyway, I was born 1992, destined to live a life wearing boring fashion like this:
Well, it's only boring in comparison to this gorgeous creation:

Isn't it GORGEOUS? Its made by 'The Father of Haute Couture' Charles Frederick Worth! (1825 - 1895)

Charles Frederick Worth established 'House Of Worth' which is one of the oldest fashion houses there is! (Founded in 1850) He is called the father of Haute Couture! He was the one who started the trend for ladies to wear the dresses with the big bustle and richly worked long trains!
(House of Worth Court dress, 1888)

I would love to see this kind of dresses in Starplaza! I would even pay LE prices for them! This is really my kind of fashion, THIS is what I call REAL high fashion (Haute Couture)
The appreciation of this kind of clothing is fucking lost to the world and it makes me so sad!

Personally, I think Stardoll should make a 'House of Worth' tribute store! What could be better than tributing the father of Haute Couture?

  1. I love the first dress but the others seem outdated and they don't seem chic at all. The idea of being born in a decade of boring fashion is just crazy first of all because those dresses that you posted are from this decade but we all know that if you don't have style then you are going to look bad even if you are wearing a Oscar de la Renta gown (and I personally don't think Miley Cyrus and Paris Hilton are really stylish). The point is that Fashion fades only style is eternal.

Then to make myself more clear I'll post some "boring creations" from this decade that I happen to love not only because they are beautiful but because they represent our time and they are worn by stylish woman that love fashion.

ect. I can keep going but I am wasting to much time. Excuse me if I was rude but I am too passionate when it comes to fashion and just for the boring part, here is Gaga wearing Alexander Mcqueen♥.

For your next post you can google "Fashion for dummies" or once again since a picture speaks 1,000 words google to idk Christian Dior.

    OMG I keep talking,I'm sorry :X

  2. ^ They may seem outdated but that was the style around that century so, lol...

  3. @ Gladis, it was the Fashion of that century. Sorry for correcting but style is completely individual. I agree with Jennifer, today's fashion can be dull as fuck [referring to the picture above, for example] but can also leave one speechless.

Today's fashion is more varied. Both to the good & bad. For the old dresses in the pictures I agree with Selena! They're very nice. 'Vintage couture'!

Do you think I should google 'Fashion for dummies'? Are you serious right now? I hope not!

  5. @ Jennifer

The dresses in the pictures was the fashion and in style of that era, every girl was wearing that kind of clothing!

  6. @Ruubin I got carried on by saying you should google fashion for dummies I am sorry but I completely disagree with you. do you still believe the fashion in our time is boring?

  7. also woman had to wear clothes like that because they had no rights but people like coco chanel revolutionized woman and helped them become more free and elegant in a fashionable way.

  8. @ Jennifer

first off, I know a whole lot about fashion and styling. Fashion for dummies? No such thing, fashion and style is individual! Look at Lady GaGa, I have never seen anyone wear meat before but she did it! That is individual style! As for fashion, we (The humans) create fashion, in other words, fashion AND style is individual!

Basically what you are saying is that women back then was forced to wear what they wore.. That is not true! Only women who had husbands were controlled by men! Most often you saw a young un-married ladies wear these kind of dresses, not old married ladies!

Yes, Gabrielle ''Coco'' Chanel was the one who changed fashion back then, and quite frankly I don't think the men had too many problems with it! Women has always decided what to wear themselves, not by any psycho husbands/fathers! Well, there are of course those weak-minded ladies who didn't know better than to run to their men for fashion advise!

  9. Yes but the people back then would find it rude and you can say bitchy to wear different stuff so that is why everyone dressed the same way and fashion and style are not the same thing. It was Gabrielle Coco Chanel who said that fashion fades only style is eternal and that is true since even if you don't have money you can be stylish. You can have your point of view but I think everyone would agree with me when I say that this article is not accurate when you are referring to today's fashion.

  10. The very first dress is astonishingly beautiful. It almost looks like one marchesa dress.

I think some of the dresses shown weren't great, but style can be amazing nowadays too, the problem is you would get funny looks if you walked through the town in a magnifent and original look, like the gaga one jennifer showed. Fashion is just as wonderful now, but I think we don't get reason enough to wear it and it is wasted a bit as not everyone can wear it.

  11. @ Linus ...wut, lol..you just repeated what I said.

Jen said "those outfits seem outdated" I said that was the mode during that century. Of course Fashion has evolved from the past haute couture

    ReplyDelete
  12. I meant the ones showing style for nowadays and not the vintage dresses when I said some weren't great, sorry.

  13. @ Jennifer

Darling, not everyone has to agree with you, and me stating my opinion does not make the post inaccurate! I think a lot of todays fashion IS boring! That is my opinion, which I am entitled to have. And I liked the maxi dresses, they were only boring in comparison to the one I showed below!

BTW, people back then didn't find it rude to wear different stuff. There were MANY other types of clothing for ladies back then, I just showed you people my favorites. (The buste, long train)

Do you see? People did wear what THEY liked. That time, floor length dresses were in, so they wore them.

  14. @Ruubin okay whatever, I know I am right and if you don't want to see it that is your problem @Gladis Linus said that because Ruubin said she would were those dresses in this decade.

Why are you so childish? Aren't you up for a civilized fashion debate? No, you are not 'right' as there are only opinions we are talking about, not facts. We are all entitled out own damn opinion.

How old are you? 12? 13?

Yes, I would wear those dresses in 2011, I would love to! Of course I would modernize them, with massiv chunks of pearls, metal studs, neon colors and whatnot, but, of course, I would love to wear them in the classic way they were made, too!

    ReplyDelete
  16. I'm 15 and I love fashion debates but I just don't think you can accept criticism. If you would make those dresses more modern then why are you saying modern fashion is boring?

    ReplyDelete
  17. First off, I never said modern fashion was boring, I said those maxi dresses in that picture were boring in COM-PAR-ISON to the pic I showed. Comparison, that is C O M P A R I S O N. Did you get that in or do I need to spoon feed you? No? Good.

I LOVE modern fashion too, I mean, come on! I just have a fashion fetish for vintage!

BTW, you didn't criticize, you were being unreasonable :S Big difference!

    ReplyDelete
  18. unreasonable? are you kidding me i even gave you examples so that you could see my point, its not that i hate vintage, I love it but i just can'y find it reasonable to say that todays fashion is boring, you used those dresses to make your point but that is actually lying since there is much more nicer stuff out there like the pictures i showed, and stop saying first off, we started this conversation hours ago and you keep saying it

    ReplyDelete
  19. It seems like Selena is only here to... be a FAMEWHORE!

    ReplyDelete
  20. YES unreasonable! YES YES YES! You are so unreasonable that you don't even see it yourself. I LIED too? Wow, you just keep on amazing me with utter BULLSHIT. Oh, BTW, FIRST OFF!

    ReplyDelete
  21. weren't you the one saying that you wanted a civilized fashion debate? well I don't think you are talking about fashion so keep doing what you are doing and I'll keep reading articles from people that actually know what they are talking about.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Yes I did want that, but you just had to start you unreasonable shit-chatting. Just because you don't agree with my point of view, I don't know what I'm talking about? Not everyone has to read 'the rules' from your book, honey! (That was a metaphor BTW) ;D

    ReplyDelete
  23. I'm not stupid and you were the one who started the unreasonable crap, and I am done, if you want to waste your time doing this guess what I don't want to cause I have a life.

    ReplyDelete
  24. @ Gladis, if you read carefully you'll discover that I wrote Style instead of Fashion. Two different words, two different meanings.

    ReplyDelete
  25. @ Jennifer

Ok, fine, say what you want, it's impossible to get through to you anyway... Live your life! You only have one :D

    ReplyDelete
  26. @Linus you said it was the Fashion of that century.

that's what I said, you seemed like you were correcting me.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Haha, oh right. I meant vice versa. Didn't mean to offend though, just my personal idea about the words' meanings.

    ReplyDelete
  28. The problem is, Jennifer, you only criticize, you NEVER say anything good about anything. I'm really wondering what's your Stardoll Username... and maybe what you have done that makes you so much better than anyone...

    ReplyDelete
  29. my username is hotgirl1501 and when have I criticized anyone, I'm just saying I don't agree with her.

    ReplyDelete
  30. and anon, at least I show my face not like you hiding behind that anon face of yours

    ReplyDelete
  31. @Jennifer

I agree with Selena in the part that today's fashion can be boring, and that's my opinion.

Doesn't mean it's wrong OR right. Selena accepts your opinion while you don't accept hers. You even have the nerve to say she's not right and that SHE can't accept criticism?

Sorry, but you are being a hypocrite.
